Day 1
Managing Remote Workers
One of the most challenging situations that managers have faced during the pandemic is adapting to communicating effectively and working efficiently as a team whilst working from separate locations. In this module we look at the difficulties this presents and the legislation that needs to be adhered to, along with the best ways and methods to overcome any barriers faced.
The learner will:
- Understand the different forms of remote working that can best apply for own organisations requirements, including flexible working and flexi-time
- Be able to apply the legislative and regulatory requirements for remote working, including Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Understand the benefits and disadvantages from managing remote workers, including implementing improvements to organisational policies and procedures to help with planning, organisation, motivation and control of remote workers and remote working practices
Day 2
Developing and Leading Teams to achieve Organisational Goals and Objectives
The success of a business to achieve its goals and continue to grow, relies heavily upon the performance of the teams and the leaders who drive them. This module considers the importance of communicating the organisational goals and objectives, reviewing performance and giving continual feedback. We consider how effective leadership is key to motivating a team to perform and characteristics needed to succeed.
The learner will:
- Understand the critical role a leader plays in achieving organisation goals including having skills to motivate, delegate, give feedback and to be able to plan long term to avoid any potential issues
- Understand how leadership styles will change depending on the sector you work in, the team you have and the business requirements. Flexibility is key to success.
- Conduct a 360 degree feedback exercise with their teams, peers and Manager to create a development plan based on the feedback
Day 3
Managing and Implementing Change

In this module you will begin to look at change from a strategic point of view, with an understanding of how some critical business decisions are made and the importance of engaging employees in the implementation process.
The learner will:
- Understand the reasons for change in an organisation, including changes in leadership, technology, business strategy, need to become more efficient
- Be able to manage and implement change in the workplace, including methods of assessing risks, planning change and importance of involving people to facilitate effective change
Day 4
One-to-One Coaching
The final session of this course will be one to one coaching sessions to support you in reflecting on all knowledge gained and implementation of this knowledge in the workplace. This can then be applied when completing your assignments for the course.
